Founded by Louis Brunette with a truckload of
Government surplus milling cutters in 1952,
Industrial Surplus has grown to become one of the
top-line secondhand machine tool dealers in the
United States. Using the manufacturing expertise
he gained first as a form tool maker and then as
the owner of a successful tool shop, Lou has made
sure the company has kept pace with the rapidly
changing manufacturing environment.
As a former shop owner, Lou knew the bottom
line was getting value for the buck. Scarce
dollars have to be allocated efficiently and the
purchase of used machinery from a reputable
dealer is often the best way to go.
Industrial Surplus stocks a hugely diversified
inventory which runs the gamut from individual
milling cutters to the largest gage quality
thread grinder ever built. Our modern 100,000 sq.
ft. facility is conveniently located between
Boston and New York and flying into the Hartford
airport is far easier than dealing with the mega
airports.
In keeping with the general trend towards
increased specialization, Industrial Surplus has
chosen to put emphasis on several areas including
CNC retrofits and reconditioning and retrofitting
milling machines, Cincinnati brand products in
particular. In fact, the company is probably the
leading authority on Cincinnati production style
mills. This retrofit process marries the best of
the old and the new, the heavy duty construction
and inherent stability of older machinery and the
reliability, speed and accuracies that the new
electronics bring.
Industrial Surplus' commitment to delivering
quality products and satisfying customer needs is
why so much of our business is from satisfied
repeat customers.
